The Lisbon Studio MAG#01

After all the buzz, never-ending chatter, studio meetings, a lot of hard work but also a lot of fun, The Lisbon Studio’s first collective output is ready to go to print. It’s all very exciting!

With an intriguing mix of comics, illustration, short stories and photography, it’s a good portrait of the mild chaos and creative outpouring going on in the studio. Half art-book, half magazine, this first issue features work by Ana Freitas, Joana Toste, João Paulo António, João Tércio, Nuno Duarte, Patrícia Furtado, Pepedelrey, Pedro Potier, Ricardo Blanco, Ricardo Cabral, Ricardo Venâncio, Rui Lacas, Sara Barbas , and was beautifully designed by Tiago Tavares.

It will see the light of day in the end of May, in the International Comics Festival of Beja, where The Lisbon Studio will also have a exhibition, and will be available to purchase on several specialty bookshops and online, on the upcoming website. We’ll keep you posted!

Eu em conjunto com Eric Skillman criámos este conceito meio "steampunk" como submissão para para uma antologia comemorativa do Spwan 200... infelizmente essa antologia não verá a luz do dia, assim como estas criaturas ;)

Eric Skilman and I plotted this kind of steampunk Spawn concept for a submission, unfurtunately seems like the book won't see the light of day, like these dark creatures... ;)

Not long ago Michael Woods invited me to do a story for Outlaw Territory Two - Image Comics, i replied---

Previewing "The Wheel Turns" written by D.K. Stockton, drawn and inked by me, and colors by the great Eric Skillman.

Scheduled to hit the stores by the end of this year (I'll warn as soon as it's solicited).

--- still can't believe it :)

Tetralogia 1001 Mundos

Recentemente fui convidado a ilustrar as capas de uma tetralogia de fantasia, escrita por Madalena Santos jovem talento da editora "1001 Mundos". Sendo o quarto tomo, editado num futuro próximo.
Pedro Reisinho, Art Director pediu-me um estilo mais tradicional, como que pintado, de fantasia e uma lógica para o equadramento da trilogia. Optei por uma lógica de retratos, o que dizem de vossa justiça?



Recently i was invited to illustrate a tetralogy of fantasy covers, written by Madalena Santos, young talent from "1001 Mundos" Publisher. The fourth book will be published in the near future.
Pedro Reisinho, Art director, asked me if i could give a more traditional\fantasy feel an-almost-like-painted-look to them, and find a layout wich would stick with the 3 covers. I opted for portraits layout, What do you guys think?
